It's been a while since I last blogged, so I thought I would start out with married life. Caleb and I have now been married for almost 5 months, and it has just flown by! We love it so much though. It's nice not to have to try to wonder about dating or where you're headed in life. I now have a guy that keeps me motivated and happy 24/7. He is simply amazing.
This last month we celebrated my 24th birthday together. Caleb has been pesting me about what he got me for 3 months... So when I finally got the gift he handed me a card. I opened it and inside were 2 tickets to go see the musical Wicked! Ya, pretty much the best gift he could have given me :)
That night we went to Red Lobster and spent WAY too much money, But the food was good and it felt nice to be spoiled a little bit. Then we went down to temple square and walked around looking at the lights. When, I tried to go see another part of the lights, Caleb grabbed my hand and said, "it's time." He pulled me over to one of the carriage drivers and asked if we could have a ride. It was $50 for a half hour! But I loved feeling like a princess wrapped up with my hubby in a blanket and seeing the temple and all the lights as we drove by. I have never felt so loved and treasured as I did that night. Best birthday ever!

How we met and got engaged :)
Well, many of you have asked me how exactly Caleb and I met, soooo.... Here is the LONG story.
When I moved to Utah right out of High School in 2006, I was living In Kaysville, UT right before I went down to Snow College. While staying in Kaysville for the summer, my aunt asked if I would take her 2 eleven year old girls to Karate. I agreed without a second thought. I remember sitting there at the Karate school (at the time Caleb's basement) and thinking that their Karate instructor was quite attractive. I had never been on a date before, so I was really shy and didn't really say anything to him. I just remember him trying to talk to me and showing off during the class time. I thought he was a little odd for doing that. Who shows off by running on walls!?!? Caleb does... :) After Class was over I happened to mention to my cousins that i thought their karate instructor was kinda cute.
Number 1 mistake: NEVER tell 11 yr. old girls someone is cute, they will go and tell them and try to line you up.

So I went down to Snow College in August and didn't think about the attractive karate teacher at all, until I went up north to go to my grandmother’s funeral. During the time I was in Kaysville my Aunt saw Caleb working at Domino's pizza. She told him I was in town and he should ask me on a date. He gave her his number and told her to have me call him. THIS WAS NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!! So my lovely aunt dialed the phone and put it up to my ear. Caleb answered and proceeded to ask me on a date. I could have killed my aunt.
To make a long story short, we went on our first date and I thought he was kinda different. He then asked me to go on a second date during Christmas. We went on a double date and I swore I would never go on another date with him again. He was just...ummmm... weird.
That summer Caleb continued to text me and asked me on a date. I really had no desire to go with him, and was relieved when he called and told me his car had broken down. In about July I got a text from him telling me he was going to Mexico on his mission and he wanted to take me on a date, but he didn't have time before the mission and I would be married before he would get back... (He denies ever saying that, but I'm a girl I remember everything!) :D

So the story continues as such… I went back to Snow College, dated a ton, forgot about Caleb, and lived my life for 2 more years without him. I never wrote and neither did he.
In September of 2009, I moved in with my grandmother who lived in Kaysville. I got involved in the singles ward there and got a calling in Family Home Evening, to help organize all of the activities.
I had mentioned to my friend that I knew of a guy from Kaysville and was wondering if He had come home from his mission yet. So I went to church sometime in October and sat down in like the third row back. I looked up at the stand ( he was giving his homecoming talk) and saw a guy that looked so familiar. My friend Chelsea saw me checking him out, and she said, “That’s Caleb Collier, the one you were asking me about.” I froze and couldn’t stop thinking about how much he had changed! He no longer had shaggy hair, or seemed like the kind of guy that was dorky and nerdy (he totally is!). I was hooked! I made it my personal goal to somehow get him to ask me out.
I didn’t see him at church for a few months after that, and so I once again forgot about him. Then, out of the blue he showed up in January. I happened to be singing a solo in church that day. Caleb seemed to follow me everywhere. He invited me to go to Sunday school with him, and proceeded to get me a chair which he promptly put right next to him. I had a feeling that he remembered me but wasn’t quite sure.
As I said before, I was in charge of FHE in my singles ward. I noticed that as soon as Caleb found out, he raced over as soon as he could after karate. He was always dressed perfectly! Gorgeous sweaters, nice brown shoes, hair gelled. I knew he was coming for one reason and one reason only. Knowing this, I did the same. J I always dressed my best every Monday night so I could, of course impress Caleb!
The day after Valentine’s Day was FHE, and the whole singles ward played a game called Baby I love you, but I just can’t smile. This is where the whole group gets in a circle with one person in the middle. They have to pick the one person that they think can’t keep a straight face and sit on their lap and flirt with them. The person sitting down has to say with a straight face, “Baby I love you, but I just can’t smile.” If they crack at all they are out and have to go find someone in the circle to flirt with.
(Corny game, but it’s singles ward!)
So the game went on for over an hour. Caleb and I continued to ignore each other, until at the very end of the game it was Caleb who was in the middle of the circle. He started walking over to me, and I didn’t have any idea what to think! He sat on my lap, and said, “Hi Heidi.” I squeaked out, “Hi Caleb.” I then proceeded to continue the game and said, “Baby I love you…” But before I could finish he said (In front of the entire singles ward!!!) “Will you go on a date with me on Friday night?” I just looked at him shocked. he said, "I'm serious." well duh, I said yes!
Yes, he won that one, and I was out. Who couldn’t smile with a hot guy sitting on your lap asking you out on a date!?!?
So, we dated on and off for about a year and 2 months. He became my best friend, and I loved spending every min with him!
He kept hinting at marriage in March of 2011, and I thought it would go somewhere, but had no idea. So finally I couldn’t handle it anymore and asked him if we were ever getting married. He said yes, I’m saving for your ring right now!!!
That weekend we bought the ring, that Monday May 2, 2011, we picked it up from being sized, and I couldn’t wait for the ring! So he got down on one knee in the mall parking lot and said, “Heidi, Will, you marry me?” I didn’t have time to cry because we were in a hurry and we had to go tell his grandparents… But I don’t care that we don’t have some awesome engagement story. Our meeting story is the best by far! On July 28th 2011, I married my first date, and my best friend! Who can say that!?
